Another perfect day in North Tonawanda, NY set the stage for the 20th annual KanJam World Championship on Saturday, August 8th. Exactly 108 teams competed for the coveted crown of KanJam World Champions, including players from Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Massachusetts. At the well known Gratwick Hose picnic grounds, Rebel Survivors, made up of brothers Eric and Dan Klavoon from Lockport, NY, took home the title of 2009 KanJam World Champions.

Both players had established themselves on separate teams for the previous eight years before finally pairing up in 2009. Dan played with Brian Licht as "Team Rebels," and Eric was paired with Steve Wojcik as "Sole Survivors," a team that had already won three KanJam World Championships in recent years. On the 20th anniversary of the tournament, Eric Klavoon made KanJam history as the first and only player to win the KanJam World Championship with two different partners.
